GoDaddy - the good , the bad, and the ugly

No doubt that they are one of the biggest registrars out there, which means that your domains are in pretty good hands (or at least they should be).

What I find extremely frustrating is their registration process - in order to register a single domain you'll have to go through many pages with way too many offers (hosting, privacy tools, email redirection and what not) - that's a total waste of time, and can be quite confusing especially if this is the first time you register a domain. These guys are simply taking the cross-selling to the next level - not to mention that once you have gone through all the steps and are done with paying for the domains, you are hit with yet another page full of offers, instead of a simple "registration complete" message.

What's good about them is they have decent offers every now and then, discount coupons, cheap info domains, etc.

I also hear quite a lot of people complaining about their hosting, so that's something I'd definitely stay away from.

For all your domain needs - go to GoDaddy!

I bought all my domains from GoDaddy.com and was more than satisfied! They are an excellent provider of affordable domains but I must say that their site is also an intuitive one - easy to navigate around and find important links. Their domains are very affordable, and searching through the domain results, you'll find suggested results as well which is great if you're looking to buy in bulk.

Upon purchasing a domain you can access a host of other thrilling features like free email and hosting but I didn't quite use them to judge how good they are. The support and help I received, however, was more than excellent. The staff is friendly and understanding, and if you submitted a help ticket, you'll usually hear from them within 24 hours or less! It's easy to have them understand what you need, and they'll always comply in order to help you out.

Don't Use GoDaddy

I would not recommend using GoDaddy. Although its domain management services are still acceptable, its hosting is down right appalling. You may be attracted by its offer of cheap domain registration and "free services" worth over $100. But I will tell you that it's not worth the trouble.

GoDaddy's web hosting does not come with CPanel. They use their proprietary control panel which makes administration a pain. Moreover, there are many restrictions on the hosting server. Many internet marketing scripts cannot function on GoDaddy hosting.

If you intend to purchase a domain name with GoDaddy to take advantage of their free hosting - forget it. Their free hosting comes with ugly ads which you would not want your visitors to see.

While GoDaddy's domain registration is apparently cheap, they do not come with private whois, which will cost a few more dollars.

If you are cheap, go ahead, try GoDaddy. If you want to save the trouble and headache of getting things to work on your hosting, look around for other services like hostgator.

Best Domain Registration Service

I have registered lot of Domain Names in GoDaddy.GoDaddy is the cheap and the best domain name provider. GoDaddy provides new and improved offers and discount coupons which help subscribed customers to get the best deal.I really love their service. The support staff is always read to resolve customer queries and provide the accurate response for all the queries. GoDaddy provides hosting have features like cpanel and webmail to all hosting clients. Hosting support is the best support system provided by any hosting company. It is easy to renew websites as we can use funds from verified PayPal accounts. The service is full secure and cost effective. I would really recommend this service to any webmaster or any noob whoever wants to start a new website.

I call it the Best Domain Registrar!

Being a Web Developer and part time Domainer, I register hundreds of domains in a month. Although I have used the services of other Domain Registrars, I personally feel that Godaddy’s service is beyond my expectation and their domain pricing is the cheapest in the Industry. Godaddy also rolls out offers or discount codes on periodical basis which could help Customers to get the best deal possible. However the Domain Registration process is little bit frustrating due to the excessive Advertisements. It is ridiculous to note that recently they display advertisements even when you want to change your registered domain’s Name-Servers! But excluding this Advertisement factor, Godaddy is the best in its own domain.

While comparing their hosting service with other leading Hosting Companies, I would say it lacks lot of hosting features like cpanel, awstats, webmail clients etc. and their web servers are not as faster as offered by other Hosting Companies. Remember! That’s why I called Godaddy as the “Best Domain Registrar”.
